Tamo CrossSome of you asked me what the best way is to get around in Iceland. First of all, forget about public transport. For those that like it organized there are a lot of operators that propose well planned trips and tours, mostly starting from Reykjavík. For anything else you need a car. In case you want to hit some of the more remote locations you will need to take so called “F-Roads”, that are unpaved and sometimes cross unbridged rivers. For those you need a 4X4 drive (obligatory). A 4×4 drive will enable to drive on roads that are snowed in or also to go up to the highlands during summer. Definitely my choice⠀
