The Blue Lagoon is one of the most famous attractions of Iceland. Intersting fact is that it’s not natural, but man made. The lagoon is fed by the water output of the nearby geothermal power plant Svartsengi. The water is rich in minerals like sulfur and silica and blue-green Algae that gives it the milky blue color. This picture is taken outside the bathing facilities that were opened in 1992.
