A couple of weeks ago we did a road trip on the West Coast of the US. During our trip we visited the famous Ghost Towns Bodie which is situated east of the Sierra Nevada. Started as a mining camp in 1859, Bodie once had over 10000 people living there. However due to discovery of more interesting Gold reserves elsewhere and a big fire that destroyed large parts of the city it finally was abandonned in the 1940s. Thanks to the landowners that hired caretakers and the declaration as an National Historic Landmark in 1961 ~170 Buildings remained. During our visit late afternoon it was quiet calm, but even though called a Ghost town the place is quiet know by Photographers and Tourist alike. The location is amazing and you can almost feel the many souls that have lived here once. Anybody afraid of ghost’s here? 😱⠀
