A couple of weeks ago I was in Madrid and I decided to visit the Museo Geominero (Geomineral Museum). Beside displaying a large collection of minerals and fossils from Spain and its former colonies the building is a beautiful gem itself. The museum is located in the Geological and Mining Institute of Spain which was designed by Spanish architect Franciso Javier de Luue. It has 250 showcases that are distributed on the ground floor of the building and three balconies. I really loved the stunning atmosphere there and the fact that it was very calm with only a few visitors despite the fact that the entry is free. So when did you last visit a Museum ?
