An for those of you who are curious: There are many different legends around St. Valentines, one of which is that Valentine was a priest who lived in the third century in Rome. During that time Emperor Claudius II outlawed marriage for young men because he thought that single men made better soldiers than those with wives or families. Valentine defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When discovered he was sentenced to death by the roman emperor….
