The Speicherstadt district, which literally means ‘City of Warehouses’ in Hamburg, is the largest warehouse district in the world. Same as the City of Venice in Italy the buildings stand on timber-pile foundations. In this case oak logs. Even though it’s charm is very different it is sometimes called the venice of the north and has been classed a Unesco World heritage site since 2015. I enjoyed the different bridges and the architecture very much, so don’t miss it if you go to Hamburg
