Everytime I come back to Paris from my travels I feel like rediscovering the beauty of this city. A couple of days ago there was a beautiful evening light and I stopped at place de la concorde to take a some shots when the sunlight hit the 2 fountains that decorate the place. The fountains on place de la concorde where build between 1836 and 1840. Paris has over 200 such fountains, the oldest dating back to the 16th century. The fountains originally provided drinking water for city residents but now are rather decorative features in squares and parks. Not to confuse with the Wallace drinking fountains of which there are also more than 100 in Paris.
