Once a small fishing village, Biarritz was made fashionable after 1854 by Napoleon III and his Spanish empress, Eugénie. For a long time the town’s upmarket image drew in an exclusive international clientele looking for a luxury getaway. However this has changed in the last years and Biarritz has become a destination for a wider audience. It’s specifically popular within the Surfing community as it has some great surf spots and is also hosting numerous competition such as ISA world longboard surfing championship that is set to start tomorrow #旅行⁣
